Once upon a time,
faraway in the downtown of Istanbul, Turkey,There
was a village named Ummut Village. In the village, there was a
poor boy named Ahmed Al – Fatih.
His father was a farmer
and his mother just helped her husband farming. Every day, Ahmed always took care of his father’s buffalo
after he went back from school. As the time passed, the buffalo became his
friend. Every day, he played all
day long with the buffalo.
One day, he was very hungry while
his mother didn’t come home yet. There was nothing to eat in the house. Soon after, his father came back.
He brought some
food. He asked his father to give him a piece of it, but his father didn’t want to give him any. He
started crying. But his father still didn’t want to give his son a piece of his
food. He ran away to the street and suddenly he bumped onto someone. Apperently
that person was his mother. He started crying and told the truth that he was very hungry and his
father was greedy. He asked his mother some money to buy some food. But his
mother didn’t get any money that day. After that he had no choice. He decided
to take some water in a river near his father’s farm. He brought that water to his house to drink for
him and his mother. He gave the water to his mother. When his mother received
that water, she started crying because she felt very sad. She could not give
his son food, even a little.
The next day, the
mother tried to discuss about food necessary everyday but the father was still greedy. He
didn’t care about the matter. Because he thought that he was who had the farm. After a long
disscussion,
they argued.
The father really didn’t care about his family, he just cared about himself.
After hearing that thing, Ahmed was very shocked. Although he went to his
school, but he didn’t arrive. He decided to sit near the river and thinking
about his poor life, his poor mother, and his greedy father. He could not do
anything.
Meanwhile, the
mother started struggling to get some money to buy food. All day long she tried
to sell vegetables from his husband’s farm until she got some money to buy food. But still, there was no one buying her
vegetables. She was very tired. She started thinking about another way to get food.
She got an
idea. But she was afraid. Because she wanted to slaughter her husband’s buffalo. She was afraid because she knew that the buffalo had become Ahmed’s friend
everyday.
Ahmed was still sitting quietly and sadly near the river. He
started crying again. Suddenly a beautiful girl passed by the river. She saw Ahmed crying lonely. She
walked closer to Ahmed. She asked Ahmed why he was crying. Ahmed told the
truth. After hearing the long story, that girl felt shympatetic. And then, she
introduced
herself. Her name was Sevillan. They chatted along the day. In the middle of their
conversation, someone called Sevillan to go home. Before they separated,
Sevillan gave Ahmed some gold coins. And then they came back to their home.
Before he came
home, he bought some food first with that gold coins. He got a lot of bread and
milk. When he came back, he told his mother
that he just met a beautiful girl named Sevillan. And he showed the food that he
brought to his mother. She was surprised. And Ahmed explained that Sevillan gave him some gold coins.
She was very
happy and didn’t care who Sevillan was. And then they ate the food together. When they were having the meal, his father came and
saw the food. He was very hungry too. He took all of their food just for himself. The mother was very angry and slapped him. But he didn’t care, as long as he could get some food. And then he left them.
Now Ahmed was just really confused,
he couldn’t do anything again. He didn’t want to cry again. His life was getting harder now. He
went to the river again. He sat quietly feeling sad, thinking about his poor life.
But he would not give up. He tried to be stronger now. Ahmed decided to keep struggling. Now he helped his father farming,
with his mother. And the father was
just waiting for the result from the farm, and didn’t do anything. He really
didn’t care about his family anymore. He didn’t want to give a lot thanks to
his wife and son, who worked hard in the farm. Every day, he got much part from the farm, and his wife and son just got a
little.
10 years passed.
Now that the family was broken. The Father left his wife and son, and married another
woman. They
moved far
away from Istanbul. Ahmed was different now. He grew as a strong young man. He never cried again. His mother got older, and could not do anything too
much. All that they had left was just the buffalo. Their farm was all harvested by his father and he brought all of it, with his new wife.
Once, he met a
woman. He recognized a bit who she was. Yes, that was Sevillan, a woman who he met 10 years ago
near the river. Apparently, Sevillan knew that Ahmed was stronger now. She knew that Ahmed was brave,
calm, good, and great even if he was just a poor man. And Sevillan finally told Ahmed, that she was the
daughter of famous Khalifah Islam, Abdul Mejid. He was surprised. Surely, she
was one of a family members in The Tokavi Palace, Palace of Istanbul. She wanted to bring Ahmed to the
Palace and introduced him to his Father about his personality. At the palace, Khalifah heard a
long story of Ahmed who was a very strong, brave, calm, and good man. Finally, he gave an
offer to Ahmed to be a new Guard in that palace. Ahmed was very happy hearing
that. He came home and told his mother about the offer from Khalifah. Without any doubt, the
mother happily agreed with it. He hugged his mother and cried happily. The next day, he came to the palace and told the Khalifah
that he was ready to be a new guard of The Tokavi Palace. The family of Tokavi
Palace happily received Ahmed as the new guard.
As time passed,
Ahmed became stronger, stronger, braver, braver, better, better, and the best.
Now every one
in the palace knew that he was the best guard in the palace. The Khalifah was
very old now. He felt that he could
not lead all of Moslems in the world again, because he was
very old now. Khalifah decided to give his Khalifah Crown to someone, to replace him as a Khalifah. His
plan was not realised yet. He died.
Of course, the royal family was very sad because the Khalifah died. But, the family of Tokavi Palace didn’t worry about finding the
successor of Khalifah Abdul Mejid.
The world now saw the new Khalifah that would be
better than Khalifah Abdul Mejid. Abdul Mejid was a very great man. And the
next Khalifah could be different, but could
not be bad. He was brave, good, strong, and great man. He
was Ahmed Al – Fatih.
